I am sooooo confused. I have been trying to get on this site for two, maybe three days, and a message said: "Don't Panic, this forum is undergoing changes" or something like that. it was the same with all the forums, including Ornery. Now I see that people were posting away like all was well.

Did I miss something? Did this happen to anyone else? Did I miss a Pun Smackdown?

Oh, the pain of being culled form the herd! Oh, the agony of not having a way to procrastinate! I actually folded all the laundry, revamped my resume, wrote some cover letters, etc. etc. Yikes!

Don't panic.

It wasn't you. It was everyone.

Duh, I just read the "My Day without Hatrack" thread title. But still, it seems that people were posting in the last few days, so i am still confused.

Puh-lease.

It was up if you knew how to get in. You had to sneak past the sign using basic html tricks.

Actually, it was -- but if you cache pages, your browser probably didn't know any better.

It was down for everyone at first, then was up for some people, but not all -- possibly DNS servers not being updated? Some people got in because Zevlag set them up with a proxy server. If I knew more about like computers and stuff, I might have a better guess.

Some of us don't know basic html tricks. Some of us have computer skills that extend to surfing the web through google and clicking on our favorites to get to hatrack.

Luckily, zevlag also helped some of us get on using a proxy server.

Some of us got in on sheer blind luck. Too bad I must've used up my life allotment in that one instance.

Damn.

There was one brief moment on Thursday night when I could get on the sight. Then it was back to the don't panic music all day yesterday.

zevlag's groovy

I have to say it was awfully considerate of the mods to wait until I was out of town and away from a computer before they took Hatrack down for a week.

Just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Yay!
