I'm just wondering about the "fit" of foreign and domestic policies.

I was kinda interested in the question of domestic polarization as it relates to the support of the war. no biggie.

See, fallow, your problem is that -- and this holds for ALL your posts -- you don't actually ask questions.

You ask big, huge, nebulous CLOUDS that SURROUND a question, but are not in fact questions themselves. I think you do this to avoid making your point too obvious, but the downside is that you aren't good at subtlety and consequently wind up making your actual question completely opaque.

If your question is something like "do people support or oppose the war effort due to partisanship based primarily on domestic issues," you can say it like that. [Smile]

Also, I respectfully request all the kind denizens of Hatrack; could we please stop using retarded as a derogatory term?

True. But, I don't post big, huge nebulous CLOUDS of rhetoric that SURROUND my answers.

I take comfort in that balance. I hope you can, too.

wussy,

I agree with you. This caused me some concern as a derogatory label, but I hoped it would be read in a strictly literal sense. e.g. "I'm slow. I'm not up to speed. I'd like to join the political discussions, but I'm overwhelmed."

edit: freakin' apostrophes! grrr...

I've never seen you give a straight answer, so I can't argue with this. [Smile]

I think it's okay to just wonder about things in post. I know some here think that only arguments which already have a well thought out defense should be posted. But sometimes I wonder about things and what other people think without even knowing for sure what it is I wonder about. [Confused] Now that makes a lot of sense. [Roll Eyes]

Just be glad he doesn't use two threads...one to ask if he can ask, and one to ask the question.

It wouldn't be so bad if fallow actually asked the question, Rain. [Smile] It's just that he doesn't even go THAT far; he refuses to ask the question that's actually on his mind, and instead asks a question so ridiculously vague that he never gets any answers.

But sometimes something develops. Try ignoring his threads until they have 10 or 20 posts in them. By then maybe he's gotten the concept firmed up and the question asked. (He SAID it was a sloooooowwww question.) [ROFL]

If it's a question that you need permission to ask, it's probably better to keep it to yourself.

Who are you asking for permission? The mods? If the mods had to give their permission every time anyone wanted to ask a question then this board would move very, very slowly. So why don't you just ask your question?

There's no point in asking for permission. No one can give you permission because everybody on this board is equal. No one has any higher status than anyone else except for the mods, and I don't think you're asking them.
