Ok, who else is playing Thief 3 AKA deadly shadows?
I picked it up today as I am a HUGE fan of the first two. What did everyone else think?
Please no plot spoilers for those who haven't gotten all the way through it yet (myself included)
Some Thoughts:
1) plot: so far it seems like they have another great plot line going
2) cutscenes: I LOVE these, My absolute favorite thing about the thief series are the really cool cutscenes, I am still very impressed
3) Garrett's new look: just friggin awesome
4) Grahics: definately the best looking Thief game (granted 2 years of advancements in technology do help)
5) GLITCHES!!!! ouch, I must admit I don't remember the first two having any serious issues. Primarily I'm running into problems with movement and bodies. So, I wander around and Garrett can't step over a body on the ground? Also, where is the "Creep" toggle, I personally dont like having to hold down the button to creep along.
Does anyone else have problems getting Garrett to drop bodies where you want them?
Overall: great game so far, still has that somewhat open ended gameplay thief players love. All the problems I've seen are minor and easily patched.
My only thought really is that I think the game might have looked/played a little better with a modified 'Splinter Cell' game engine rather than the modified 'Unreal' engine, but i can understand that they want people to be able to write mods for it which you really can't do easily with the splinter cell system.
What does anyone else think?

re: Ralphie -- I started this thread since that thread had primarily fallen in people debating DX2
re: Wheat -- I did not know this,,, In that case the Splinter Cell coders did a much better job of it.

Red Storm makes some suh-weet games. All of the games I've played from them have had amazingly elegant interfaces. Who can debate that the "radar" in Ghost Recon was the ultimate psychological torture device from a recent game? It was so great, because it told you that an enemy was nearby, but didn't tell you where, and left you to sweat and check your ammo stockpile.

By the way, just after the release of Thief: Deadly Shadows, Ion Storm was forced to lay off half its employees, it lost Warren Spector, and it is likely to be renamed and refocused on lower-end PS2 titles.
I guess Eidos probably made this decision after Deus Ex: Invisible War, and just waited until Thief was done before pulling the plug.

Fine, dismiss my inside sources You'll see soon enough. Just ask yourself — would Warren Spector stay at a developer that no longer has any intention of making cutting-edge games?
