1. Buy pool from wal-mart; ignore husband's complaints. 2. Tell husband you will set up pool all by yourself 3. Realize you cannot even lift pool to take it to backyard; make husband and husband's friend set up pool 4. Find out that pool takes several hours to fill. 5. Fill pool in dark 6. Go out next morning and realize that pool is decidedly unlevel and collapsing on one side 7. Call husband at work 8. When husband comes home, make him figure out a way to drain said pool without flooding yard 9. Apologize to husband while he runs very long hose to ditch by road 10. Drain pool, thereby wasting 1700 gallons of water and feel very guilty 11. Realize that even with most of water drained out, pool is still too heavy to move 12. Listen to children whining about when they will get to use pool 13. Decide to drain rest of water in backyard, thereby creating a large muddy puddle. 14. When water is too shallow to drain, but pool is too heavy to move, make kids get pitchers and bale water out of pool. 15. Release one fox terrier into yard during the baling process 16. Manage to drag pool into a more level spot 17. Realize that muddy fox terriers are not only dirty, but they smell really bad 18. Listen to kids whining as pool begins to refill, realize husband was right, but decide not to tell him

He'd probably appreciate it if you told him that. I know I would. My wife also has difficulty apologizing, and I sure appreciate it when she does.

Wait! You can't just drag a pool to a new spot.
You've got to kill the grass and sterilize the soil first, or grass will come up through the bottom of your pool, especially if it's Bermuda grass.

#15 really worried me, at first I thought the fox terrier was going to be the cause for the pool not being level.

Ok, I came clean with Mr. Opera and read him this. He laughed. Very hard.
By the way, I think our dog did put a hole in the pool. After I refilled it, I noticed a trickle coming out of a tiny hole about the size of a claw...ugh!!

Said hole was only on the side of the pool. I patched it from the outside, and it seems to be working...so far. However, I don't give it long till Operaetta rips it off for the sheer joy of doing so. The dog is also banned to the house whenever the children are swimming. That means I get to sit on the patio and say "hush" threateningly to the dog every 2 seconds while they swim. Don't ya love summer?

I'm having a hard time picturing grass that will actually grow THROUGH the bottom of the pool. Why are we not using this grass to make bulletproof vests or something?

Zgator, I was thinking the same thing about New England grass. However, Bermuda grass is like an entity. It has sharp little spikes, and grows anywhere with little care and little water. (My family has lived in AZ for many years) It hurts to sit on, and grows in a spreading, vine-like fashion.

Does it grow where there is no light? The blow up pools we had when I was a kid always killed the grass that was underneath.
