Stop laughing. Mack decides she wants easy mac. Measures water into bowl with dry noodles. Places in microwave. Microwaves. Removes from microwave.

As Directed, mind you.

Yet it didn't cook properly. Nearly boiling water sloshes all over hands, primarily right hand.

Burning. Much burning. Red, blistering burning on middle two fingers, thumb, webbing between thumb and pointer finger, top of hand, palm, and wrist.

Lidocaine didn't help. Ice hurts. Cold hurts. Hurts. Ow.

Ow!

I was afraid this thread was going to be about me, actually. Not that I'm dumb enough to attack Mack.

And Mack, did I mention that that is frickin horrible? [Frown] If you need hemlock, just let me know. [Smile]

Mackillian gets religion
Mackillian gets burned by misbehaving comfort food.

Coincidence?

Geez, even my kid can make easy mac, Mack.

What I hate is the nuclear temperature of the ceramic bowl after you've boiled most of the water away....

Pain has subsided unless I encounter heat with my burned hand. Blisters are intact 'cept one but it's already healed. O_o I hope I'll be able to go biking and practice fencing today. *glares at hand*

Technically, it was bagged.

Ladydove figured out last night that I get into trouble when I try to make "Easy" food. If I make more "complicated" stuff like I usually do--general tso's chicken, any stir fry, rosemary lime chicken, marinated steak tips, etc--I don't get hurt. But this one box of Easy Mac, I only managed not to screw up ONE dish of the stuff.

Will never buy it again. Ever.

You Christians and your insatiable need to label everything an abomination. [Roll Eyes] What's it to you if somebody wants to make Mac and Cheese instantly, as long as nobody gets--

er, never mind.

I have successfully made Easy Mac before. I'm not saying it's good. I'm just saying it was done. And I didn't burn myself.

I love boxed Kraft Mac N Cheese. I realize that I may have to hand in my Foodie Secret Decoder Ring for admitting that, but hey, I'm tired of living a lie.

Easy Mac just isn't as good, though, I agree.

Poooooooor jamie.

Glad that your hand is feeling better!

The best Mac & Cheese is Kraft Mild White Cheddar. And it tastes best made on the stove. You do otherwise, you deserve what you get. phffft.

...so I have burns on my palm side too. *makes face* Does this mean I can't bike today? ...or shouldn't?

Crud.

Or lift weights! Crap!

"Technically, it was bagged."

Laughing very hard at this.

DKW,
I love baked mac and cheese, with the crumblies on top, more than about any other food on this earth. I also love the boxed variety, though I do not really think of it as even a parallel food.

On Weight Watcher's, one mere cup of Boxed mac and cheese is TEN POINTS. Most people can have between 24-30 points per day.

(Incidentally, you might tell Bob that I once figured out the point value of a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream: it was a whole day's points!)

Edit for misspelling of parallel! Ouch!

If it's any consolation, I almost wish I had a name like MACKILLIAN [Smile] , it has such a great ring to it. Is that your real name? If so you must have cool parents.

Ow! Don't do that again, Mack.

And I, too, must defend good ol' mac and cheese. Not something I'd want every day. Lived on it, and boxed hash browns, for two months when I was in college and couldn't afford anything else. Fortunately it was a big campus and I didn't have a car at the time, so I walked most of the calories off.

But, mac and cheese is comfort food, and occasionally comfort food is good for the soul, if not the waistline. [Smile]

Edit: to fix weird sentence construction.

By the sound of it it's a wonder they let me through Australian customs with 3 packs of easy mac. And it has occured to me that I haven't actually tried to use easy mac yet [Angst] On the other hand, I'm not a wimp, so I wouldn't really mind having my right hand burned off [Big Grin]

Do you have blisters on your palm or just redness? If there are not blisters, I'd put on a bike glove and ride. Riding is good for the soul. If there are blisters, can you ride one handed?

On second thought the bike glove might be hard on the blisters on the other side. Skip the bike glove, maybe just rap a cloth or something around the handle bars for extra padding. How much does it hurt to hold the handle bars?

You need to ride. Get on that bicycle and ride

Wow, I'm late to this thread! Glad you're healed.

Bob, you slay me. Dead. I snort milk up my nose, burst capillaries on my face, and turn purple for lack of air...

Usually cause I'm laughing at something YOU posted. [ROFL]
