I loved Joe Schmoe 1 (on spike TV...which used to be TNN), and now Joe Schmoe 2 is on (it started the other day).

It is basically a show that mocks reality TV. This season they are making fun of dating shows with a show called "last chance for love" Basically everyone on the show except for 2 people are actors. Each actor has a stereotype (like the bitch, the rich guy, the "is he gay" guy and so forth). All the contests are rigged, and much of the conversation is scripted. Of course they have to improvise some since the two people who are not in on the gag mess things up sometimes. It is VERY funny, the stuff they pull has me rolling on the ground a lot of times. Last season they made it through the entire season without giving it away (they told the guy in the very last episode) but this season it might get tougher...the girl seems to suspect that something strange is going on.

lol, I even made a blog that I am using to bully my friends into seeing the show (this way they can't complain that they missed the first episode...since I wrote what happened in it). I really hope it does well...since I would love to see a third season. Though I guess on a small network like spike, it does not have to get huge ratings to be continued.

So am I the only joe schmoe fan?

http://joeschmoe2.blogspot.com/ (btw, if posting the link breaks rules I can delete it...but I figured it won't hurt anything is it is not actually a real webpage...just a description of the episode).

But this doesn't mock reality TV. It *is* reality TV. The whole point for this show is to laugh at the two idiots who don't realize that the whole thing is fake.

Cruel humor just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

Nope, saw the ads last night but spent my time watching the Pistons open up a can of whupass on the Lakers (further proof that there is a God).

It is not about that at all. I saw every episode of the last season, and the one episode from the first season so far...they are not making fun of the guy who is not fake (and in this case the guy and girl who are not fake). In the last season Matt did not come off as an idiot at all, he came out as a really nice guy with a great sense of humor...and so far the people this season are comming out the same way. The producers don't make it look like the real people are dumb for not figuring it out...they stress how much work went into keeping the secret. Hell, I would not be upset if it was me. Matt (from last season) looked like he had a great time, did not have to do nearly the amount of annoying crap that they do in shows like survivor and he got 100,000 bucks. Plus now they have him doing promotion for this season so he is getting paid more.

We watched some of last season and it wasn't especially good. It really just looked like an average reality show and just wasn't all that funny. This season they seem to have figured out how to do it properly. They're pushing the format a lot more, to the point that they might not be able to keep it up for long.

The show really hasn't been about making fun of the non-actors. If anything they suck up to them pretty shamelessly, I assume to ward off a lawsuit at the end.

the adds are a bit misleading...once you see the show you will see as Livious said they go overboard showing that they are not making fun of the non actors.

This season is funnier than the others...though I think you are right in saying they are walking a fine line...they risk giving it away every time they take a joke to far. Heck, Ingrid already said she feels like she is on the Truman show (which is not far from the truth)
