And some one dies in this book.

I have heard one major spoiler.

Who wants to hear it?

*covering my ears*

Hey! Those who do the reading get to do the spoiling! [Mad]

Thus saying, I will read, then spoil.

[Evil]

(I'm not totally evil - I'll put "spoilers" in the title if and when I do that.)

Seriously. If I get spoiled here and there ISN'T a huge, emboldened spoiler warning on the thread title or in the post, someone's posterior will be whupped.

Rakeesh,

VERY SERIOUSLY --

I would not dream of putting in spoilers without a very clear warning. If I feel that urge come on me after reading the book. I'll put "SPOILERS" in caps on this thread.

Honest. Don't want to reduce enjoyment of any book for anyone.

Sorry if I was being too flip.

Hmmm....

Maybe I should actually look inside the cover of the book that guy sold me. He said it fell off the back of a truck.

Terrific deal - only 90% of the retail price. [Smile]

Or follow a book delivery truck and hope a copy falls out on the road. [Smile]

I'll admit it - I was lucky. I was on Amazon yesterday, ordering a very UNfun book when I decided to check their listings of preorders.

"Song of Susannah" was on the list, with a release date of June 8!

No notice on the front page of Amazon or anything in my recommendations...

King's publishers must be relying on word of mouth and dedicated readership - and the heck with book promotion!

Well, it's working so far...

This is awesome! We wait what, 6 years for Wizard and Glass, another 3 for Wolves, and get this one in 8 months? Woot!

NOT REALLY A SPOILER, BUT READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

quote:
The sixth installment of this magnum opus stops short with the biggest cliffhanger of King's career, but readers at the edge of their seats need only wait a few short months (Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower) to find out how-and if-King's fictional universe will come to an end.
Makes me think I'll wait until the last book comes out to read this one.

I prefer the blurb from the book jacket (edited to remove spoilers):

quote:
Its... climaxes... will leave readers gasping for the saga's final volume (which, Dear Reader, follows soon, say thank ya).
Long days and pleasant nights. [Smile]

Oh, boy. You know, even knowing that you said someone died in that book, I never woulda thought that it'd be THAT person.

This book is crazy. Talk about a cliffhanger.

*gasp* I realized that I haven't read Wolves of the Calla yet because Tom strongly recommended that I wait until I was done being pregnant. [Smile] That's why I'm feeling so disconnected. Considering my response to Wizard and Glass, though, I think that may be a good thing. Still, its hard to wait!

I haven't had much chance to read beyond the first chapter. If my plans for the Blues Festival keep getting screwed up, I will get to read much more tonight and tomorrow.

(Van blues interfering with Blues plans.)

Just finished it. I know I was warned. I know I considered waiting until the last book comes out.

But, really, all I can say is ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

I'm personally impressed by King's ability to create a cliffhanger in three completely separate plotlines at once -- AND a fourth plotline that no one even realized was a plot until it was too late. [Smile]

If it were a bad cliffhanger, I wouldn't be annoyed.

We need a *tons of spoilers* thread to discuss what we think will happen.
