Eternal Darkness: Lovecraft-inspired 3rd-person puzzle/action game (like Resident Evil, but better control scheme) with AWESOME "insanity effects".

my friend the game developer (who also recommends Eternal Darkness, BTW) refers to Animal Crossing as "pink, fuzzy, crack" which is his way of saying it's the coolest thing he's ever seen. He also digs Pikmin quitea bit.

I don't own a Gamecube, but from what I've played, Super Smash Bros Melee and Mario Kart: Double Dash were awesome. Metroid Prime was fun, too, but I've heard it's too short.

I've seen that they have a gamecube game with all the old sonics on it. 1,2 and 3 and some other ones. I urge you to buy this before your life disintigrates into nothingness.

My son plays the Sonic "megacollection" incessently. Ick.
My friends don't like Mr. Myamoto's games, but really, once you get over the cartoony cuteness, they are very playable and have interesting control features.
All of The Legend of Zelda titles are a good example of this. Link's controls are intuitive and responsive. When I get hit, it's because I wasn't looking out. I've been able to solve all three games without a hint book, due to the fact that if you read all the signs, and talk to all of the characters, you will find out what you need to do. Not that this is as easy as it sounds, sometimes. Enough challenge to interest, but easy enough to play, and I play all three of the "3D" games still.
Waverace was the first title I picked up for it, soon after the Cube was released. A nice racer, beautiful graphics, and the only personal watercraft game I know of. There are better graphics today, but a very playable game you might be able to pick up for pennies.
Mario Cart: Double Dash is a fun upgrade to the Mario Cart 64 thing. Two characters per cart make interesting combinations and more multi player options. Whack a friend today!
Unfortunately, my wife came home with Mario Golf last week. I have been living on those courses! My only complaint is that many of the characters are so inhuman, that I won't play them, because it loses the golf zeitgeist. But, again, Myamoto comes through!
I haven't been into the shooters much lately, but if I were, I would want a PS2 or an X-Cube (er, box, that is).
Nintendo has pledged to never go into strategy games, and I think that's kind of sad.
But that's what a PC is for, right?

Just smash the two game systems together. You get fairly linear action, and you get to keep the more well-made system.
