According to this article, Bobby Fisher has been detained in Japan for passport violations and will be deported to ths U.S.. What next, Bigfoot's visa will expire?
quote: In radio interviews, he praised the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, saying America should be "wiped out," and described Jews as "thieving, lying bastards." His mother was Jewish.
I find it hard to feel any sympathy for someone like him.

This is so sad. I'm sure it is related to his eccentricity and persecution by the U.S. I wouldn't go so far as to say he has snapped, because it is a very emotional issue. I really hope he isn't jailed.
But I think I will make myself a Fischerandom deck.

If he's snapped, I don't think it was very recent. A few years ago I did some research on Fischer, and he's been making anti-semitic and similarly inflammatory statements like this for many years.

Fitz, we must have posted at the same time. I wasn't deliberately contradicting you.
Kat's link does seem to indicate a bit more complicated personna. Though:
quote: Bobby Fischer has been swindled out of a "vast fortune" in royalties by book publishers, movie studios, and clock manufacturers (yes, clock manufacturers), who have brazenly pilfered his brand name, patents, and copyrights.
Why is clock manufacturers so bizarre? Could he be talking about chess clocks?
Clinton secretly a Jew. Yeah, that is psychotic.

Yeah, I'm afraid he's a few pawns short of a set, a few white square short of a full board, or to put it not so simply, he's playing two-D Chess in a 3-D Chess world.
