A friend of mine told me that Lucas is also replacing the original Emperor in TESB with Ian McDiarmid.
Somebody once told me that Alec Guinness actually played the Emperor in TESB, but IMDb seems to disagree.

Well, now that he's dead, they can recreate him digitally, and no one can sue. Sort of like that Orson Wells thing with Space Commander (or whatever).
