I'd like to express my apologies to Farmgirl, Marek, and RRR. Due to super major bad mojo here at the casa, I will be unable to come to Kamacon. I'll also not be here at the 'Rack as much, nor in Hatchat.

Boon -- I'm so sorry that you and Thomas can't go! I was looking forward to meeting you. (Even though I realize I could easily drive to Oklahoma any day..)
Don't worry about us -- we are going to find a way to go anyway. We have it all planned now, so even if I have to take out a small short-term loan, I am going. I'm not as worried about it as I was a month or so ago -- things are looking well.
Since my work is also sending me to Chicago in October for training -- I had the choice of flying or driving at that time, and they would pay either way. I choose to drive, and with the mileage rate our company pays for travel expenses, they will be giving me $550 just for the drive up and back! So I know I will come out ahead. Knowing that is down the road makes some other things doable.

And Boon - where in Oklahoma did you say you are? I'm going to be going to Chickasha to see my sister at some point this year, and would like to drive by and meet you at that time..
