So I, Robot just opened in the UK, and I am extremely interested in hearing what other people thought about it.
I, personally, thought that if you can look past all of the Hollywood factors, the philosophical messages and ideas are extremely interesting and true to Asimov's ideas as well.
I was, like many, annoyed by the obligatory shower scenes, car chases, and cliched lines. However, many scenes were taken from Asimov, and the overall theme is suggested by much of his work, but also goes beyond his stories to raise interesting questions and a strong theme.
What does everyone think?

My wife kind of dragged me to this movie. I think I finally got past the title hang-up thing (being an OLD Asimov fan!) and sort of enjoyed it.
Asimov liked a robot mystery. He wrote several. This movie follows in that genre. Anyway, that is one way I saw it and it helped me enjoy the movie.
Another aspect of this movie that I think Asimov would approve of is the question of how can the 3 Laws be violated when they are guaranteed to be fool proof. He wrote a couple of stories on this concept also.
So I just sat back and kind of enjoyed the movie. Was not the best movie of the year, but it is far from the worst.

I liked it, I havn't read many of Asimov's stories, so I was ready to hate, I just kindof sat back and enjoyed the fun factor.

My first choice for a sequel would be Me, Robot. My reasons for this choice are mostly political satire.
