That's obvious. I've got a gritch inside. This should also be apparant by how many threads I've actually started today here at hatrack. I rarely post let alone create threads. Something is off and I can't bring myself to focus any work.

I read Hyperion from Dan Simmons a few years back. I don't remember much about it, but I do remember the gritch. The gritch controls everything: my nerves, my work, my sleep or my memory. I am really tired right now. So I went to bed last night in my menacingly lifeless new home filled with boxes containing things I need easy access to and an ashtray full of butts. The condo is new and barren and seems to lack a pulse without a connection to the internet and basic tv channels. I finally fell into an uneasy sleep.

Laying in bed this morning hours before I had to go to work, I felt something move. That was fun. How can you fall back asleep after such a joyfull moment? It's weird how often I confuse dream state for reality.

I wonder where is my head.

I tried to phone home but nobody was there. I just had to add some paranoïa to imagine the worst. Am I really sick or just a bit tired? The gritch knows the answer. I just have to find a way to communicate with him.

Well, "sick and tired" is nothing... Wait until you're sick and tired of being sick and tired ! Now that's something to be !

Aaanyway, making fun aside... You just moved I presume, since you say your stuff is still in boxes. I'd say you're tired, that's all. Drink a hot tea and go to sleep early (crap, it's 1AM, I need to g.. [Sleep]

Sleeping in a new home is like being in an alternate universe. Sleep will come easy for me tonight. I'm going to head over to Trader Joe's for a bottle of 2 buck chuck. The finest wine you can get for 4 quarters.

Good...err... evening ! (I think...) And sleep tight.

About sleeping in a new house: I've changed places so many times the last few years with coming to France for college, then moving from one city to another, and moving during the summer, that all I need is a bed and I'm in dreamland in a second... The part that sometimes sucks is being awake. [Wink]
