I'm setting up my site with Mambo Open Source. I've integrated Coppermine visually, although I'm waiting to integrate users.

Now I'm looking for two things:

First, a good book or site on customizing an using Mambo, including how to develop modules and components for it. I've found the obvious ones on line - most of them seem to jump into the middle of a topic.

Second, a recomendation on which forum software to use. I'm looking for one that uses Mambo's user list and login screen, as well as one that will let you associate Mambo content with particular threads. For example, it'd be nice to have an article up with a "Discuss" link at the bottom that took the user straight to the thread to discuss the article.

Thanks,

Dagonee

Huh. I had no idea Mambas were German.

I am a fan of Yma Sumac's Mambo.

If it makes you feel any better, dude, the story that's on your main page is both cute and funny.

Thanks. Right now, that's all the content on my site except for the wedding photos. It's fun, but it's going to lose it's drawing power pretty soon. [Smile]

By the way, what hosting service do you use? And do you like it?

I use doteasy.com. It's been pretty good, but traffic has been light so far.

I used it to let people RSVP for our wedding, and for some people (Hatrack, friends) to see the photos.

It's only been down twice, once scheduled for 2 hours, once for about half an hour.

So I can't answer on how it handles load, but it's been good to me so far.
