The park kitty-corner from my office has a statue of F. Scott Fitzgerald in it. He is a St. Paul native, in case you didn't know. It is a life-sized bronze, and not on a pedistal, so if you're walking by he's normal human-height.
Today as I was driving home I noticed Mr. Fitgerald was wearing a party hat, and a sign around his neck. I circled the block... the sign read "Happy Birthday F. Scott!" I wish I could have taken a picture. The sign was even color-coordinated with the hat, it was great.

ElJay, that reminds me of a tradition at the college I attended. We had a life-size statue of Ben Franklin in front of one of the main buildings. Ben was regularly painted different colors for football game victories as well as holidays. The best though occured last year while construction was going on in the street in front of the statue. One morning I drove past Ben and noticed he was wearing an orange construction cone as a hat.
