I just took my lunch break and heard an ad defending Saudi Arabia and quoting the 9/11 commission's investigation into the Saudi Government and the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

It was the first time I had heard of such an ad.

I have heard Pro-Israeli ads the last couple of months as well.

Anyone else heard these ads?

Thoughts?

I don't have broadband.

However, I'm sure that however much the clerics of SA might dislike America, the rulers aren't so stupid as to not understand that they have benefited enormously from the U.S. and that if public opinion turns against SA, the cash cow might go away, too.

Real Player won't play them for me either, but it's not a broadband problem on our end. The Saudis aren't using metafiles to link to the real media, and they're apparently not hosting the files on Real media servers as they should be doing. The sudden spike in traffic has killed those links. Only thing we can do is try again later. Anyone know where these spots can be downloaded?

Some how I ended up on Saudi Arabia's email list. About once or twice a week I get an e-mail like the following, though the topics range from terrorism, to thier attempts to feed us enough oil.

During recent Congressional testimony, Juan Carlos Zarate, the U.S. Department of Treasury Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the restrictions it has issued to guard against illegal financial activities. According to his testimony, “In some respects, these restrictions go further than those of any country in the world.”

Assistant Secretary Zarate also commented on the close cooperation that is ongoing between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with regard to the financial war on terrorism. According to his statement before Congress, “This constructive engagement which has produced real results must and will continue.”
