What is pain? Gender differences in pain? quote: Pain is a personal experience that varies greatly among individuals in response to an apparently similar stimulus. Pain can be defined as an unpleasant sensation caused by stimulation of the nerve endings. Pain is often a cardinal symptom of inflammation and is valuable in the diagnosis of many disorders and conditions. Pain is associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Pain can be manipulated by cognitive, mental, emotional, and environmental factors.

On a similar note, my left leg has been really hurting for the last few hours. I have done nothing to it to justify said pain. Tempted to chop it off and put on the spare. That'll show that leg to be unruly. Crazy as always, Psycho Triad

But what if its a whistle blower, and hops straight to its National Limb Union representative, and they get all my other limbs to go on strike. Boy would THAT suck.

Pssh, let the lazy limbs go on strike! It's not as if they've got a strong union without the torso.

Update, even though no one cares deeply: my leg has stopped hurting. Yet now my side really hurts, all along a single rib. maybe i should try mack's method, and poke at it for a while.

quote: Yet now my side really hurts, all along a single rib. I must have an under-developed sense of pain, because I don't know if I could tell if just one rib hurts. I am afraid my pain receptors are not that sensitive. [ October 02, 2004, 06:26 PM: Message edited by: Alucard... ]

Well, while we're on the topic of pain and legs in particular... Anyone know how to relocate a dislocated knee? (Actually, it isn't dislocated, it's locked I believe). Answers of "See Doctor" will be filed away with all other similar responses. Feyd Baron, DoC

I know its all along a single rib, because i keep poking different spots. Only the spots along said rib make me flinch. But it's faded slightly since this morning.

My brain hurts. I had a really tough week with prelims and such. And problem sets. Its like they only want us to learn or something. So, yes, my brain aches. To much math. And physics. And Thermodynamics. Not that I dont like it, but still...

Serious pain this time, not some random ache. My back hurts like a $*!@#. Moved a ton of furniture this weekend, but did nothing to hurt it. Lifted things carefully, never pushing my limits. So was just a little sore. Then fenced for 5 hours sunday at a tournament. OW. But not a major ow. Tonight at fencing practice, I must have done something wrong, cuz my back is screaming bloody murder. Ibuprofin + heat pad = some relief. Things that make me go ow.
