I have this disgusting little cut on my toe. I have gotten them before, but they are revolting. Where did this thing come from and how the heck can I get rid of it?

Rubbing alchohol usually does the trick and gives it a nice little tingle to go along with it [Big Grin] .

When Ben's in this mood it's probably best not to take his medical advice too seriously. [Big Grin]

And for your toe, I have no suggestions except maybe one of those liquid bandages. And a [Frown] because cuts on the toes hurt way more than they look like they should.

It doesn't even hurt until I put my socks on... Then it burns a little bit.
It looks so disgusting like a gapping mouth. Perhaps I'll pour rubbing alcohol on it tomorrow and gold bond powder.
Or this stuff that is for faces.
Or maybe I'll put salt on it.

Syn,

No powder. [No No] Rubbing alcohol is overkill. If anything, wash the site with soap and water, and dry well. Bandage with a bandage, and secure with a butterfly bandage or a Steristrip if necessary. Keep it wrapped with a bandage during the day or when you wear shoes. At night, wash the site if necessary and let it air dry while sleeping.

If it becomes gange grenous or seeping puss, then use fire.

The above advice might be a bit out of order. Use a butter-fly bandage or steristrip if the laceration or cut is gaping open wide, then bandage it with a band-aid or similar product....

Right after she drowns the wound in rubbing alchohol, ben. Then the fire.

*grabs popcorn to watch*

serious note: My grandpa uses super glue for these cracks in the skin on his fingers. I don't know how it would do on a toe.

Could just cut it off and then use fire.

It's probably a little crack from dry skin. I get those. Put a bandage on it, and when it heals, treat the area with Eucarin or other moisturizing cream (not lotion) to prevent further cracking. In the mean time, do the rest of your feet, hands, elbows, and knees; they're probably getting dry and ready to crack if you're starting to get cracks in one place.

Yep, no powder. And rubbing alcohol is more likely to slow recovery than help. Generally if it hurts more than a simple washing, it is damaging the tissue, making things worse.

The best thing is to flush&wash the wound well as Allucard said, then apply an antibiotic ointment -- whatever is cheap: there ain't a whole heck of a lotta difference between what's available off the shelves -- and cover the scratch or cut with a bandage.
