I can't believe it. Someone played our game, understood what we were doing, and then actually wrote it down! I don't think this has ever happened before!

your a game writer? I can imagine movie games would be tough to do...there is so little time. It seems that many games take years to make it out of the development stage *cough* Half life 2 *cough*

Hey, Geoff, have you met Intelligence 3? He's one of our newer members, and is a game designer also. He's a friend of ElJay's--she started an introduction thread for him.

Your link didn't work for me, by the way.

Just re-tested it, and it works. Don't know why it won't for you.

No, I haven't met Intelligence 3 yet. And for those who might wonder, "Game Writer" is only one small aspect of my job. I'm a "Game Designer" [Smile]

I feel your pain. I saw this time and again while making games. Hopefully, someday soon I'll see it again, since I still need a replacement job for the one that broke.

Oops, active thread, use caution.

Hi Dog. I was with Atari here in Minnesota (the former WizardWorks). Producer and occasionally designer. [Smile] Nice to meet you. I know at least one of your coworkers. [Smile]

(edit for spelling)

Geoff, forgive me, but what's so amazing about that review? Are you saying that it's refreshing to be reviewed at all, or simply refreshing to be reviewed by someone who understands that you're intentionally creating low-cost, timely tie-ins that are meant to be affordably enjoyable but not particularly ambitious?

------

Hey, I3, how recently were you with Atari? Were you on ToEE?

Which one, which one? [Smile] And out of curiosity, what have you worked on? (This was only my second game, the first being Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku. I'm still working on making a respectable game ... should only be a matter of time now [Smile] )

They closed my office March 11th. We worked on the Dragonball Z games and the value titles out of that office.

BTW, congrats on the game. [Smile] I didn't make it clear enough, I think, that I'm always deeply respectful of people who're actually making it in the industry. *grin*

By the way, the "Which one, which one" thing above was directed at Intelligence 3. I want to know whom he knows at my company [Smile]

Tom, most of the time, our games get savaged by reviewers who wish they were playing Half-life 2, and resent their bosses for making them play kids' games. This guy didn't just keep an open mind ... he seemed to really "get" the way things go over here.

And unlike the other two reviewers (so far), he actually PLAYED the PC version. (One of the others apparently didn't realize that the PC version was different form the console, and just issued the same review for both. The other DID know, DIDN'T play our game, and then lied and said he did.)

Hi Dog.

I used to know [edit: I wasn't comfortable having the name of someone not connected to the forum up here for all to see, just seems impolite]. I haven't talked to her in years, and our last conversation was somewhat strained, so not sure it's a potential bonding moment for you. [Dont Know]

I was there 9 years, and worked on numerous titles. I was for many years the producer on ports for the Mac, and then moved into PC and PS2 and GBA games. The list is very long, but recent titles were Robot Arena: Design and Destroy, Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective, and Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament.

(grrrr, edit for punc, punc, punc, punctuation)
