After his fall and apparent signs of age catching up to him, what will become of Cuba after he goes? What will become of US/Cuba policy?

Nothing will change if his brother does indeed succeed him. For democracy Cuba will need a major power struggle or a gradual USSR like glasnost process.

First will be a Military Dictatorship by whoever takes over in his place. If there is an uprising by the populace, expect it to be brutally put down. If not, then there will probably be a peaceful transition.
If Bush is re-elected, no trade will continue. If Kerry is elected, I suspect that trade will be opened with Cuba (which I actually advocate now. I want those cars.)
