*confused* WHERE at the alamo? There's not any place that really private, except maybe behind some trees somewhere. Even inside the buildings are stone floors and wooden benches.

I don't think they were really trying to be private....

Two soldiers from a medical unit were putting on a show and got arrested - to the tune of $500 bail, if I remember the story.

"Remember the Alamo" takes on a whole new meaning, to be sure.

I think this is one of the best Dobies we've had in a while, even if I say so myself.

"Matthew, I just don't think we'll make it, we're too incompatiable as people."

"But Kristine my love, remember the Alamo!"

Aww, that's sweet, I no longer hate you, just your sin of posting the joke before me. [Big Grin]

Why don't you two get yourself a room...

or a national monument.

While memorable romantic interludes may include the use of handcuffs, they should not include the use of handcuffs by police officials not involved in said romantic interlude.

Why do you think they call it "The Rose Bowl"?

No, I can do better.

If I made a joke about Escelante would anyone get the tie in to it being created by Clinton? No, perhaps something else then...

It could've been worse, it could've been the Lincon Memorial.

All depends on your tastes. [Big Grin]

And it reminds me of a bad joke:

"A plane is flying over the Atlantic when it develops engine trouble. The pilot radios the cabin and informs the passengers that unless three people jump overboard, the entire plane will crash.

An Englishman walks to the door, cries 'God save the Queen!' and leaps overboard.

A Frenchman walks to the door, cries, 'Vie va le France!' and jumps out.

A Texan saunters up to the door, hollers 'Remember the Alamo!' and pushes two Mexicans overboard."

-Trevor

Edit: Hell, it should have been the Washington Monument. Or the Capital Building - a finer collection of pricks is hard to beat.

He: How was it.
She: Monumental.

When I was in high school we called it "Parking" but this is ridiculous.

Gawd, now I'm gonna giggle every time I see a "No Parking here" sign.

"Compact Parking only."

If you think this is bad, just imagine how the Mexicans felt when they, erm, discovered the Alamo!

Am I making some sort of lewd innuendo? You don't know! It looks like something is there, but everytime you try to grasp it, it slips out of your hands.

I love the wording in that article:

quote:
The report said Kristine Nissel, 18, and Matthew Hotard, 19, were partially clad when the officer apprehended them after several tourists watched the couple and became upset.

(emphasis added)

It's like they were upset, but just couldn't stop watching... [ROFL]

I guess they were too busy rubber-necking at the crash.

Which is, of course, a failed attempt at parking.

The proper response isn't to go tell on the couple, but to wait for them to finish and then clap.

And hold up score cards.

Yet another poorly chosen phrase for this thread.

I'll let you make your own cherry joke here.
