Anybody read David Brin's relatively recent graphic novel The Life Eaters?

I got it last night, and thought that while the first third was fantastic, the remainder was unplesantly heavy handed and obvious. And just a bit shrill.

I was afraid of that. That has been my experience of his later novels.

But I'd still like to read Kiln People.

Kiln People was fantastic--probably his best novel, I'd say.

When Brin gets it right, his stuff is incredibly good. The problem is that there's really no predicting when he'll hit and when he'll miss.
