Um, yeah it does. About the only flaw I can think of is that dumb texture-popping issue that crops up in more of the cinematics than I like, and only occassionally in the actual game itself. I'm very impressed with everything else - the gameplay, level design, story, graphics, controls, sound.
Just curious: is anyone else on Hatrack going to be making a foray onto Live?

I have really not been keeping up with the info and stuff for this game, but do they still have the Co-Op and multiplayer split screen? Or is it necessary to have Live if you want to play with other people?

Nope, they still have Co-Op, Split Screen and System Link. I don't remember if the first supported 16 players via System Link or not, but the 2nd one does.
I've already got myself on Live. My gamertag is Lakhesis. If you're going to Friend me, please leave me an email or a post in this thread so I know who just sent me an invitation.

My roomate went out at midnight last night to pick up his pre-ordered copy. He got back around 1:00am, and just went to bed around an hour ago. When I got home from school this afternoon (early afternoon) he'd already beat the game. He's skipped school and work to play it on other levels and with his brother (another roomate of mine). He seems to like it.
... but second, does anyone else think that the "I don't know where to go next!" problem in Halo got about four times as bad in Halo 2?

I still hear echoes of laughter from my friends who ask, "You STOPPED at the bridge on the last level?!?!"

Geoff - yeah, the "where do I go next" syndrome has returned. I was thinking about it last night, and it seems that the areas that I get lost in are the same as the ones from the first game: human ships (that first level was definitely disorienting) and a new one: bombed out sections that have unexpected holes in walls that I glaze over at first glance.
There has been a significant improvement, though I don't think that whoever made the decision that alien architecture should show its alienness by being confusing was right.
