The music group or show? I like the group, but have never seen the show.

If you're talking about the show, heck yes. I haven't bought the DVD yet, though.

There's a music group? [Dont Know]

I meant the show. It's hilarious. I caught most of the first season last year and adored it--the only program I actually made an effort to watch.

Fresh...original...smart...

And not that many people are watching, even after the Golden globe/Emmy win.It appears it's just too quirky for regular TV audiences what with its documentary style and off the wall humor. This is another Freaks & Geeks--a show too good for regular viewers. Do watch it, signal!

It's such a dippy show... I hate shows that revolve around embarassing misunderstandings.
I keep watching it anyway though hoping it will get good or something.

That eliminates like, oh, most of comedy. Shakespeare made his bread and butter off such misunderstandings and pretty much every comic writer has done it since then. Why still watch it, though?

Because I am stupid and keep hoping it might get better.
I guess it depends. I don't know why embarassment is painful on somethings and funny on the others but I am just not seeing how that show could have won an Emmy.

I love Arrested Development! I think it'll hang in there for another couple of years, at least.

I am not a huge fan of comedic embarassment (I find Ben Stiller unbearable), but it just doesn't bother me on Arrested Development.

Well, I'm a huge fan of Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey movies, and the show Seinfeld, but I love this show for completely different reasons.

It's more subtle, for one. It's a show you can watch over and over again and find something you missed the previous runs through. AD sort of reminds me of Monty Python that way.

There aren't really places in which you are practically told to laugh. You can just laugh naturally, when you find something funny. And the fact that you laugh anyway - with no laugh tracks and minimal music - is enough for me to love it.

It's also more character-driven. In this way, it sort of acts as a comedic soap, in that it takes a few episodes before you'll catch most of the jokes.

And, lastly, it puts irony to some of the best uses I have ever seen in a sitcom.

So, yeah, that's why I like it.

I actually just saw the show for the first time last night. I really enjoyed it. I will have to borrow the DVD from my friend soon.

Never heard of it...

But then, I don't have a TV at the moment. So scratch that idea.
