has anyone seen this movie? I just watched the trailer, and joined the Shaun Squad. How many good zombie movies are out there?

I saw it. It's pretty funny in a very british way.

The all-time best non-comedy zombie movie has to be 28 Days Later.

Just a quick question....

How scary is it? [Big Grin]

I have problems sleeping after scary flicks, too much imagination going on.... This just seems too well made to pass up tho...

Troubadour-

I didn't think it was very scary. There was some gore, so if you find that offensive don't go. But overall I thought it was pretty tame.

There is much gore and violence, but it's also utterly stylish, touching at moments and generally quite funny. An actor from it gives us the most noble and touching descent into zombism EVER! It's cheap horror mixed with drama and satire. It's good. Anybody catch the little reference to 28 Days later towards the end? [Big Grin]

"we're coming to get you Barbara!"

The movie was a hoot, though I kept wanting to strangle Ed.

I absolutely love Zombie movies. Especially Zombie humor. I hope the DVD is out by christmas.

Er. Right.

Well, seeing Shaun of the Dead (absolutely EXCELLENT) did it for me, I'm addicted. It seems that in much the same way that getting bitten by a zombie infects you, just watching a zombie flick gives you an insatiable hunger for more.

In the last few days since watching SotD I've seen 'Dawn of the Dead' (2004), 'Resident Evil' and am waiting avidly to see '28 Days Later' and 'Resident Evil: Apocolypse'.

Damn. I'm really enjoying these... who woulda thunk it.

I REALLY liked 'Dawn of the Dead' - fast-moving zombies gave the movie some excellent tension and pacing. Top notch.

Pixiest, not only do I hope it is out by X-Mas as well, I want it to have some of the same features of the Region 2 release. A friend of mine has that version (and his region free player, darn him) and the extras are a scream. There is a commentary track of just the zombies!! Must be heard to be believed. Lots of good features, too.

If folks haven't seen the movie, I would recommend watching the inspiration movies just beforehand. I went to a film fest that started with the original zombie movie ("White Zombie") and then the three Romero movies and ended with "Shaun..." Oh my goodness it was even better. So many references I missed the first time I saw it. I didn't even realize that the skippy happy music in it was the muzak from the "Dawn of the Dead" mall scene. Great stuff.

I really really liked 28 Days Later until the end. I thought both the original end and the special added end blew goats.

I'll be seeing Shaun of the Dead next weekend when we have it at our student union. Woo!

I became frustrated with some of the things Jim did in 28 days. Like stabbing that guy with the bayonet and just leaving the gun sticking out of his chest? All I have to say is that if I'm being chased by crazy zombies and horny soldiers, I will be keeping the assault rifle on hand, thank you very much. I'm certain that was done just for a cool shot.

Shaun of the Dead was a great movie. I laughed throughout the entire thing.
