I have a DVD burner...how would I go about turning my old home movies and VHS tapes into DVDs? What do I have to buy now?

I think you will need a video capture card to hook up to your VHS.

Yes, if you want to hook into your existing DVD burner setup, you'd hook the VCR up to a video capture card, tweak the video on your computer, then burn it to DVD.

You might find it easier to get one of the DVRs with a built in DVD burner and hook that up to the VCR, as that would take care of format issues for you. This, however, would be much more expensive.
