Katie and Catherine and I were talking yesterday, and we realized that none of us really know how to pronounce your handle. I think we decided that "zenera" is the easiest to think/say, but other possibilities we discussed were "ex-nera" and "ex-en-era". Is it any of those three, or something we didn't even come up with?

I always pronounced it ex-nera. Or alternately, X-ey. Unfortunately, X-ey is having the troubles with her internets. She probably won't be back on until at least tomorrow. But then I'm sure she'll answer your question with more of the how you say... accuracy.

aspectre and Noemon have it...at least in my opinion. That's how I've always pronounced it in my head.

I've always pronounced it "zee-NER-ah." But this is actually the third thread on the subject, IIRC.

I guess I was thinking "J" instead of "G" on the JEN part, even though I wrote it the other way. As in the name Jenny, for the last syllable. But I definately had the emphasis on the wrong part...

Megan, maybe you feel like an oldbie, but it'd be a lot more convincing if you actually LINKED to the second page...
I've always pronounced it zee-neh-ra. But I vary it a little sometimes. Nothing drastic enough to write down!

So, it's ex-near-uh, with a slight emphasis on the middle, apparently. But she doesn't mind zen-er-uh, so I think that's what I'll stick with.

First, for any newbies about who may not know, my screenname is actually my real name in rot13. I'm actually much more picky about the capitalization than I am about pronounciation or spelling. I answer to just about any pronounciation that sounds close (which means "dingbat" is NOT a valid pronounciation), and overlook most spelling errors as it's not exactly easy to spell. However, I get all if someone uses a capital x. The only exception is when Abby-chan calls me X-ey. Then it's okay to use a capital x.
As I said on the thread Megan linked, I pronounce it "ex-near-ah", and sometimes just call myself x. But I have heard many other pronounciations, and none have really grated on me, so pretty much any is fine.
ketchupqueen, your package arrived Friday. Originally I planned to wait until Christmas to open it. My family only buys presents for the neice and nephews. Well, I do get a calendar and chocolates from my mom every year, but those are expected, and it's nice to get something unexpected. So I was going to wait so I had something to open on Christmas. But after my absolutely completely horrible no-good Friday evening, I was in need of some pampering and opened it late Saturday. I LOVED it. Thank you! For those not us, she sent me a cloth clutch purse in a cool black-and-white print, and inside were Harry Potter stickers, some sparkly anime-type stickers, some Yu-gi-oh pencils, and a small, pretty notebook. Fun! The purse is actually very similar in style to the kind I'm carrying now, so I will definitely put it to use in the future.

I pronounce it zhe-NER-a, where the zhe is a combination of the z sound and sh. Which comes from reading Eddings also.
