The Richardson Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is having its annual Creche Exhibit this weekend. There will be over 1000 nativity scenes and sets on display, of all kinds, shapes, and sizes. Today and tomorrow, it's from 10 am to 9:30 pm (I know, I'm posting this late), and the Stake Choir (which I'm singing in) is performing from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. (It's a great program, we've worked really hard). On Sunday (the 5th), the exhibit will be open from 12:30 to 9 pm, with a live broadcast featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (the First Presidency Devotional) from 7 to 8 pm. I will be in the live nativity on Sunday, which goes from about 12:30 to 2 pm, and I'll be hostessing tomorrow (the 4th) from 3 to 5. I think it's going to be really fun, and you are all invited to come! Admission is free.
The address is 900 S. Bowser Rd., Richardson. It's right between the Seventh Day Adventists and the Jehovah's Witnesses buildings.
Please come and kick off the Christmas season, it'll be really great!

I have a thing tonight, but I'll come by tomorrow. Do you sing today or tomorrow? You're hostessing from 3-5, right? It'd be very fun to meet.

I know that building too! I'd like to stop by tomorrow. Maybe Katie and I can go together... I'll have to call her

katharina, we sang tonight and we're singing again tomorrow. There are also some very nice solos. I'll be hostessing from 3 to 5 tomorrow, yes, and I'll be wearing a green sweater and a black skirt. (I have frizzy, curly dark blonde hair and black glasses which are perpetually crooked because they've been bent out of shape by the baby.) If you catch me in the choir, I'll be in the top middle. That would be so cool!

beverly, what ward were you in? Do you have kids? If so, what ages? My husband has lived in this stake for the past 15 years, and he wants to know.

Shewt. I messed up. It wasn't the Richardson stake center, but the Richland building (North Richland Hills). I wasn't entirely positive as I posted, but sure enough to make the mistake. But then I am good at forgetting names of things.
I lived in the Colleyville ward and was there on an off from 16 to my early 20's. I have been to the Richardson chapel, since I regularly attended the rotating young single adults dances all over the DFW metroplex. But I never attended church there.

Not likely-- he was one of the guys that just hung out around the food and avoided the girls...

I have to get ready to go hostess now, since we're going to the library first. Anyone who decides to come, just look for me, I guess, and we'll take it from there. I'm really excited that someone wants to come!

I had completely forgotten ketchupqueen's real name and by the time I had gotten to the church, I forgot the description she gave of herself, but I did, however, wear my KamaCon t-shirt.
Catherine called me to direct me to the church after I got lost on the way, and we went in together. A woman answering the description ketchupqueen gave of herself looked blankly when I strode up and smiled confidently, so we slunk back into the gym where KQ found us. Went to dinner at a yummy diner where the owners know them by name. This was great! And you know what this means?? It means...I think it means we have a clump. Yay!!
So, when's the get-together? Next summer? How many people can make it to the middle of the country?

(Technically, I think the geographical middle is in North Dakota-- but we count because all the airlines have a hub here, right?)
And I totally cringed when that girl walked in and put a host badge on. I was like, "of all the days for some one to wear a black skirt and green sweater!" But we found each other. That was so fun.

There were SO many nativity scenes. Some beautiful, others well... I had to call my sister on the way home to tell her about the one where every piece was a candle.
Very fun! Ketchupqueen is a delightful person

I've heard of that! My sister told me about that a year or two ago. You might have seen her, but I kinda doubt it.
