San Francisco --> Salt Lake City: Pre 9/11, get bumped in Reno. After panic, get hustled onto small prop plane that makes a stop in Elko, Nevada. Suspect no paperwork took place. Grateful to Delta employees. Thank you, Delta!
Boston --> Dallas: Some people ram planes into buildings days before and the airport is closed for a week. No home for you!
Atlanta --> Dallas: Sleeping during the layover only works if you wake up in time to catch the connecting flight.
New York City --> Dallas: Nothing elaborate. Just missed the plane.
Dallas --> Manchester: Missing the first flight means five hours in the Newark airport, or else happily driving the rest of the way with someone who is treated by cars the way I am treated by airports. I enjoyed the second option. Sorry, Dave.
Dallas --> Chicago: Let on plane only by begging and running.
Dallas --> Salt Lake City: Luggage is lost on the way. Found in Kansas. Giggling ensues when bag is returned.
Dallas --> San Francisco: Right time, right luggage, right day. Wrong airport.
Dallas --> Salt Lake City: Despite best efforts, miss check-bags-in deadline by three minutes. Take later flight.
Idaho --> Salt Lake City: THIS ONE NOT MY FAULT. Tell baby brother to pick up outside Terminal 2. He happily waits inside Terminal 1 for 50 minutes.

Man I've flown standby and had less problems than that.... (Minus WenchCon where Josh and I sat at the airport all day... we did get to play Settlers of Katarn on the way back though)

First or second time I came up here to see Jen I had a similar thing happen. I got off the plane in a dusty, wrecked looking terminal. I wait. For more than two hours. Turns out Buffalo has a new terminal, and Jen forgot I was on an airline that went to the old terminal still. I'm leaving out last years Christmas Eve flying debacle as well. I feel your pain.

Ya know, I had similar problems getting out to NC for Christmas...Nothing major, but I got to the gate for my SLC - Cincinatti flight about a minute before the jetway moved off. I didn't see an attendant at the ticket counter, nor at the door to the jetway. I didn't see the plane listed for destination, so I went to ask someone. They confirmed it, I got back in time to see the jetway retract. Then my adventure to return home began. For the next 26 hours, I was not a happy man. But still, you've definately had it much worse than me.
