I like this show.
Sure most of these people are completely immoral, but at least it's well written, funny in a lot of bits.
It has a combination of drama and comedy I really like.
I thought I'd totally hate it when I first dled it.

Speaking of shows that are degrading to women... (we touched on that in the sitcom dad thread)

Sure, it's all immoral and complete garbage but it's got Eva Longoria in it! And sometimes, she even gets nekkid!

[Roll Eyes]

You like this show, but moan about 'Malcolm in the Middle?'

Huh?

Because Malcolm in the Middle is really, really annoying... and this show sort of... grew on me..
Plus the clumsy one is sort of cool.

It's not immoral, it's morally involved. There are lessons learned and the characters grow, kind of like Hart's Hope, we aren't going to know the score until the end. There are dignities and indignities directly connected to their moral actions and thoughts, and these people take risks in a good and bad way. My only complaint is that it's a little bit lightweight. I don't have the schedule to watch it every week, so I've only seen a handfull of episodes-- I especially like the one where Huffman's character is deciding whether to dope down her boys-- but when it comes out of dvd, I'll rent them. No spoilers!

I like listening to Felicity Huffman's voice, she has good body language, and everyone else is easy on the eyes. I like the fact that the idiot husbands are taken to task for being worthless, and praised when they do something nice. I think that's the reason I can't stomach any sit-com, including Home Improvement.

"Please don't mistake my anal retentiveness for love."

Desperate Housewives is my not-so-secret-anymore guilty pleasure.

Elizabeth, very close, she said anal retentiveness rather than obsessive compulsiveness. I love Bree, she's by far my favorite.

She is great, Mrs. M., and oh so scary. I remember her character on Melrose Place, not that I can remember the character's name.

It was Kimberly. I found out from Jessica on TWoP, who calls her KimberBree in the recaps. I actually never watched Melrose Place.

I am a lot like Bree is many ways - I'm a neat freak and I'm kind of a Martha. I'm a little less uptight, though.

Lynette really, really gets on my nerves. I want to root for her, but she just makes things so much harder for herself than they have to be.

Which one is Lynette?

I have not watched regularly. Who is the currently missing woman? Does (Lois Lane) have something to do with it?

Well, there was a time when I would have thought emanent was a misspelling, so I didn't want to just come out and say "you mispelled it."

"Emanent"? Are you sure you spelled that correctly?

They really do a good job with characters in that show. Bree is really growing on me. She's a combination of really bitchy and punctilious and endearing.
I like that clumsy one, but I can't remember her name. She's just so goofy in a lovable way.
