Is it possible for her to pump enough to feed the baby for as long as she's advised not to nurse him, and then pump and discard her milk during that time? I don't know how long it would be, I'd think no more than a week at most (since it's stay away from kids for 5 days after a high-level radiation treatment for cancer, if I'm remembering right). She may not even have to do that.

[soapbox] All light is "radiation" -- that includes infrared (heat) and visible light. Only very few types are dangerous; even fewer are absorbed by the body. X-rays can cause damage (at high doses, and mostly in particular sensitive tissues) but cannot be absorbed. [/soapbox]

On an unrelated note, if this has happened before, meaning she has had a positive skin test before and has now had another, she should refuse to take skin tests from now on. As soon as you have one positive skin test that has to be confirmed with an xray, you are free from needles and henceforth move right to step 2 (xray).
