They're doing Fiddler on the Roof here. I've been wanting to be in that play so badly it's not even funny. And the Theatre Department here doesn't advertise auditions outside of the building the department is in. This also happens to be the building I never have a need to go into, and I don't know where they post the auditions to begin with.

Oh yeah. I was just purchasing some tickets for a concert and saw "Fiddler on the Roof" - February 3 - 12. Lousy no good drama majors. They probably just couldn't stand being shown up by an English major. I mean I even LOOK like a Russian.

I think you should buy tickets to every performance and sing along with your favorite tunes. LOUDLY.

Perhaps one of the players will get sick and they'll turn up the houselights and ask if anyone in the audience is good with fake Russian Jewish accents. That'll be your moment to shine!

Wait for it!

...

actually...sorry you missed the auditions. I wonder if maybe they keep it "closed" so the theater majors can get in their required performance credits or something.

A BYU-I production of Fiddler directed by John....John...(what's his last name??) will be really really really good.

I'm sorry you didn't get into it though. If you're into musical theater, you ought to try out for Playmill. It's a theater company that John runs up in West Yellowstone. He holds auditions in February, but you probably have to check the drama boards in the Snow building to find out when they are. You don't make much money (I think it's $2500 or something for the entire summer) but you do get paid to be in musicals and play a lot. I never did it, but some of my best friends were involved and loved it.

JemmyGrove could tell you more about it he did it for a whole summer...and was even in Fiddler on the Roof! [Big Grin] (come to think of it, I accompanied his audition and it was at the end of February.)

PS the auditions aren't closed, but they don't advertise them on the rest of campus like they should. I wasn't a music major or a drama major and I was in several shows there...albeit several YEARS ago, but still... [Smile]

They always say they're itching for guys (Read: people who aren't female) who can sing, dance, and act, yet they don't advertise any auditions. I can do all three, and I'm told I have the best fake Russian accent certain returned missionaries who served in Russia had ever heard [Frown]

I just want to be a rich man!!!
(Or rather, a poor Russian Jew)
[Cry]
Okay. I'm done [Smile]
