I was on Ritalin LA 50mg. This required taking two pills, one 20mg and one 30 mg since they don't make a 50mg pill. So I was paying two co-pays. Since that sucked, my doc switched me to Concerta (36mg).
It made me TIRED. Not just sorta-tired, but fighting to hold your eyes open all day tired. I got nothing done, I was just tired and unmotivated and felt like a slug. I also would wake up at night a lot (I'm also on 25mg of seroquel). That didn't happen with Ritalin.
With the Ritalin, I could concentrate, blah blah for 11-12 hours, then when it wore OFF, I'd get wicked tired. Around that time is when I'd take the seroquel, and I could sleep straight through the night.
My doc just switched me to Adderall XR 25mg. This seems to work much like the Ritalin did and I'm very happy with it.
But what would make the Concerta do that?

Interesting, because I've had the same results on Adderall that you described - getting tired when it wore off.
I was taking XR but just switched to the regular Adderall again, so I can take two pills in a day. Helps me stay awake later, since I need to be alert for school work. The XR was wearing off before I really sat down to study each evening.
