HELP!! Its 2 am I have a massive research paper due tomorrow, I'm on page 11 out of a suggested 13, not anywhere near the conclusion not sure what the heck to do with it and nearing exhaustion and getting easily distracted. Help keep me on task! I would post the paper itself... only its huge and I don't think that the forum would be too happy with me (I mean the program itself not the people who frequent it [Razz] ).

Keep working!!!

I've had enough of you wandering aimlessly in and out of threads. I don't want to see another post from you until you've finished your paper!

See what you can do under the headings "Further Discussions" or "Implications."

Go back and beef up the section where you state the problem to be solved. Then double-beef up the section where you state the solution in general terms.

Add a relevant anecdote near the beginning.

Block quotes!

And if all else fails, creative use of double spacing.

...also go with a 13 pt font and slightly increase your margins.

Actually the problem isn't not enough information to satisfy the length, rather its far far too much information to add in in the space and time remaining to me. And much much too much for my brain to process and put in any... understandable terms in its current state.

Come up with more headers. That can help the paper seem more organized and will let you add more line spacing.

Edit: Ah, well, just keep on typing then. Create a section at the end called "Additional Conclusions" if you need to. But get it all in, and then you can go back and remove everything that doesn't absolutely need to be there. If it isn't crucial to the conclusion you are drawing, it has a good chance of not being missed.

Go to 1.5 spacing with a "condensed" font. Futura Condensed works well if you have it. [Smile]

Here's what I've currently run up against. Does anyone know exactly what Specific Impulse is when talking about rocket engines and how its figured out? One of my sources is "Entering Space" by Robert Zubrin. He defines it as "the number of seconds a pound of propellant can be used to deliver a pound of thrust and state in terms of seconds", which makes sense but he then goes and uses it with metric units, which doesn't. He says that rocket exhaust velocity can be calculated by multiplying the gravitational force by the Specific impulse to obtain the exhuast velocity. Oh... duh if its in seconds then it doesn't matter what type of units you use. Ok. Thats better. Thanks guys your helping already [Smile]

Woah... so many 6's in peoples post counts. 666... 2666... am I seeing things? Almost certainly. But I'm making progress, 12 pages now [Smile] and the brain is starting to fire up again. On the other hand I just realized that as it is 2 am, the paper is in fact due today. Crap.

Your user number has tons of sixes in it too!

I'll probably ruin the trend though, unless I have 966 posts or something.

Keep working! Good luck getting everything you want to say down on paper coherently.

I"M DONE!!!!! GABOING!! And I discovered all sorts of cool stuff in the proccess. So even though paper sucks I learned a lot and I'm pleased with myself. Now off to bed. Lets see... probably sleep before school starts around *thinks* 2 and a half hours at best. Oh well.

By the way, did you know that the budget for the Department of Defense was around 388.9 billion in 2003 while the education department only got about 57.4 billion and Nasa got a measely 14.6 billion. What is wrong with our nation, that we spend almost 400 billion dollars on building more ways of killing people (most of the defense departments funding went to research and development) and around 1/8th of that educating our population? Granted states are what are what are supposed to pay for various schools, but the result of that is very unevenly funded schools, becuase it all comes down to the amount that the tax payers pay in a certain area. And most schools are under funded rather than over funded. And schools generally seem to be a low priority for some reason. Indiana got a new governer recently. Indiana has serious budget problems, first thing that got cut: education spending. Yep. I learned a lot. Good night folks.
