This is tender, philosophic and funny. It's terrible that a tiger toy strike a poor little boy at his return to home. Yes ! it's a violent strip too !

I always felt bad for Calvin. He's an hyperactive six-year-old, with dumb parents who ignore his problems, and his only true friend is a toy tiger...
But I still liked the series, though.
Of course, the best funny comic books are Gary Larson's!

I love Calvin and Hobbes, but I think Berke Breathed's Bloom County was better really the best comic strip of all time.

Calvin and Hobbes RULES! Better than any comic. It cracked me up when his oatmeal was moving and he attacked it then his mother yelled at the father, "It's your fault! Your stupid chromosome!"

My favorites are when Calvin and his snowmen make commentaries on art.
And the time when his mom tells him that Dad is in the living room starting a fire, so he goes running in and then pauses.... "Oh. In the fireplace."

Calvin and Hobbes comic books are the only comicbooks I own.
In one of the books Hobbes makes a comic book for Calvin's Dad to read. One time when I was younger I made the exact same book.

But come on, its by no means the best strip out there. ONE of the best strips, I can accept.
But Foxtrot anyone? The Far Side? Doonsbury? Luanne? Zits? For Better Or Worse?
There are lots of great ones. My personal top list:
1) Foxtrot 2) The Far Side 3) Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes was great, however I read more of the Cryptoquips over comics... I'm a geek, ok!? ^_^

Calvin in Hobbes is the only comic books I've ever bought, and ever read on a somewhat consistent basis. My mood inevitably gets better everytime I read a strip.
I do dig the Far Side comics, too, though. I think I had a Far Side calendar a couple years ago.

Thanks ElJay. It was what made me stop, thing is, most people don't feel as you do about it. Which is fine, there are plenty of other ways to tell Annie how wonderful and perfect she truely is. Just so long as no one minds if I slip everyonce and a while and say it on the forum (like I just did).
