Am I just screwed or is there any way to get a replacement besides just buying a new copy of, say, Halo or Tomb Raider 2?

Unless you made yourself a (perfectly legal) backup before the disaster! [Smile]

Is it possible to back up an Xbox game? My understanding was that this stuff tends to be a higher density than my computer is capable of replicating. I guess I'll call a professional. The x box game is okay, the TR2 got cracked right in half.

Well, you could probably get a used copy of TR2 for around 5 bucks at EB or gamestop.

Call the company. Lie and say it was like that when you got it as a gift. As long as you're still in ninety days for most publishers, they'll replace it. If you got Halo 2 the first day though, you may be about three weeks too late. Check the documentation.
