Yeap, that's right! A primary, very clear, very large rainbow, a very faded reflexion and a third one underneath the first, thinner and only going to green-blue, but still a rainbow.

Neat!

I've seen a triple once, and doubles several times. I actually have a picture of a double-rainbow somewhere at home.

Best rainbow ever, though, was the one I saw around Mile 19 during the Dublin Marathon. No, it wasn't especially bright or pretty, but it was a great pick-me-up right when I needed it.

[Big Grin]

This was the first time I ever saw a triple one. I've also seen double ones, one of them extraordinarly bright - I remember lots of people looking out from their windows and taking photos of it [Smile] . I think friends of mine might have photos of it, but I'm not sure about it... Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of this one, but it's there in my memory for me to marvel at it!

My dad and I drove to the literal end of a rainbow once.

Mountains rock.

The best one I've seen was the day of my high school grad (ie. prom to most of you). My best friend and I were driving to my house in the rain, and kind of mopey because it was the end of high school and all, and suddenly the sky cleared and there was a fantastic clear double rainbow! All our pre-grad pics were taken with it in the fields in the background. It was perfect!

I love rainbows. Sun-dogs are neat too.

I remember seeing a website about rainbows and other cool sun & even moon related stuff... The only things I ever saw, though, are rainbows, but who knows, it might get better! [Big Grin]

Corwin: I don't have it here, I took it in the US a long time ago. It's there somewhere, unfortunately.

Oh well... I just talked to a friend of mine whose brother took pictures of the bright rainbow I was talking about earlier. Fortunately, since he's in Romania right now on holiday, I have the key to his room and full access to the computer. Now all I have to do is find the pictures and then find a site to post them... All that after a short break, while I go back to reading some more "Illium". [Big Grin] (or posting on Hatrack, whichever comes first)

What's a "sun-dog"?

My dad saw a rainbow from an airplane once; it was on top of the clouds, and formed a ring around the shadow of the plane!

sun dogs

THE site (found it, yey!)

And none of the photos I talked about yet. I just took a nap, though I don't think it was a wise thing to do at 10PM...

I have a picture of a double, taken out my back door, in the header of my blog. I've never seen a triple before, either, that would be really cool!

Everytime you see a triple rainbow, an angel wins a free pepsi.

Good for him.
