At least, in my office. And by free I mean no cost at all to have a trained tax preparation professional (like myself) interview you, fill out your personal income tax papers (including state returns) and e-file them.
Teachers are free all of February. (Normally, this would be only one week in March, but we're a new office and not all that busy.)
March brings free returns to police, fire, EMTs, volunteers and veterans.
Active military always get their returns done free.
Personally, I think this is a great program. Not only does it benefit the community in general, but it's a good PR move for the company. Most of the offices nationwide are participants...I think it's a requirement if you finance your franchise through the corporate office.
Anyway, I'm not trying to advertize the company I work for. All I'm saying is that if you qualify for this program, contact me and I'll get you contact information for a local office near you.

Boon, when you say Veterans, do yu mean of the service in general or of a war.
There is a difference, and I was wondering becasue I think I need help this year...by my calculations we will owe a lot, which doesn't seem right to me becaue of our income bracket.
I wasn't ever in combat, but I was in the Army for 3 years, and recieved an Honerable Discharge.....
