I haven't built one in about 10 years, because of my back.

But I figured I ought to try it again. It's much nicer than a tent.

Gotta build a math lesson out of this.

The only igloo I ever slept in was an artificial one in a theme room at a hotel. *grumble* *grumble*

That is sooo cool, Glenn Arnold. Pictures?

Neato, Glenn.

When you come up with the math lesson, send it along.

What grade level?

Sixth, I think. Right now I'm just subbing, so it changes all the time, but I think the igloo would work well with sixth grade.

It's all about central angles, and lining up rays that radiate from the center of the igloo.

It would be really cool to have them make a life-size one or two. You could have them build the plans and follow them. Where do you live? I bet you could even do it with cut-up cardboard.

You can also make structures with rolled up newspaper. There is a really cool sixth grade project that a sixth grade teacher in my school does.

Milk cartons!(lesson uses sugar cubes, but suggests milk cartons)

You could do a really neat integrated lesson on with this idea.
