Then it's official - you only get colds during Spring.

Well, that and some pretty spiffy deals on blankets - found a $30 king-sized comforter on sale for $7.

Edit For typo.

Heh, spring here too... this is what I'm looking at for tomorrow...

A STRONG STORM SYSTEM IN THE SOUTHERN PLAINS WILL BEGIN IMPACTING THE TENNESSEE VALLEY LATE TONIGHT AS A WARM FRONT LIFTS NORTHWARD FROM THE DEEP SOUTH. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AFTER MIDNIGHT... WITH ISOLATED STRONG STORMS CONTAINING SMALL HAIL INTENSIFYING TO MARGINALLY SEVERE LEVELS TOWARD MORNING.

AS STRONG LOW PRESSURE MOVES EAST INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY... A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE MID AND DEEP SOUTH WILL MOVE EAST INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. STORMS SHOULD ARRIVE IN NORTHWEST ALABAMA BETWEEN 6 AND 9 AM... AND THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AROUND NOON. THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES. AFTER THESE STORMS EXIT... SUNSHINE COULD BREAK OUT AND DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES. ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAY THEN ERUPT BY MID TO LATE AFTERNOON... CAPABLE OF LARGE HAIL... DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.

PERSONS ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY ARE URGED TO CLOSELY MONITOR FUTURE STATEMENTS AND FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.

. . .

All the world seems in tune
On a spring afternoon,
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

This one is almost a little creepy.

Yes ! I feel poet now [Smile]
Spring is the return to smile and happyness.
I rebirth. I live again and i succesfully turn the page. I am serene.

I am not a great reader of English poetry, but there is one i love :

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o'er-darkened ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits. Such the sun, the moon,
Trees old, and young, sprouting a shady boon
For simple sheep; and such are daffodils
With the green world they live in; and clear rills
That for themselves a cooling covert make
'Gainst the hot season; the mid-forest brake,
Rich with a sprinkling of fair musk-rose blooms:
And such too is the grandeur of the dooms
We have imagined for the mighty dead;
All lovely tales that we have heard or read:
An endless fountain of immortal drink,
Pouring unto us from the heaven's brink.

Nor do we merely feel these essences
For one short hour; no, even as the trees
That whisper round a temple become soon
Dear as the temple's self, so does the moon,
The passion poesy, glories infinite,
Haunt us till they become a cheering light
Unto our souls, and bound to us so fast
That, whether there be shine or gloom o'ercast,
They always must be with us, or we die.

Therefore, 'tis with full happiness that I
Will trace the story of Endymion.
The very music of the name has gone
Into my being, and each pleasant scene
Is growing fresh before me as the green
Of our own valleys: so I will begin
Now while I cannot hear the city's din;
Now while the early budders are just new,
And run in mazes of the youngest hue
About old forests; while the willow trails
Its delicate amber; and the dairy pails
Bring home increase of milk. And, as the year
Grows lush in juicy stalks, I'll smoothly steer
My little boat, for many quiet hours,
With streams that deepen freshly into bowers.
Many and many a verse I hope to write,
Before the daisies, vermeil rimmed and white,
Hide in deep herbage; and ere yet the bees
Hum about globes of clover and sweet peas,
I must be near the middle of my story.
O may no wintry season, bare and hoary,
See it half finished: but let Autumn bold,
With universal tinge of sober gold,
Be all about me when I make an end!
And now at once, adventuresome, I send
My herald thought into a wilderness:
There let its trumpet blow, and quickly dress
My uncertain path with green, that I may speed
Easily onward, thorough flowers and weed.

John Keats.

It's big but so beautiful ! This is my favorite english poem. I hope you love it too.

Yeah, my thoughts are, if it's spring, why is it still in the 30s? [Razz] Silly northern states.

[Grumble] Yeah I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. No wonder I was curled up in a ball next to Steve for most of the night because I was cold. We took the heavier quilt off the bed, thinking we wouldn't need it.

We had tornado warnings last night too! Not in my county, fortunately, and I heard this morning there were no injuries or major damage.

My Bradford pear trees are blooming, and weeds are already sprouting in my yard. Yuck. (to the weeds, not the Bradford pears, which are quite pretty)

It's snowing like crazy right now, but it's not reall accumulating at all.

Yesterday it was 47! I love Michigan weather, but this is just silly. I put up with enough of Michigan's crap during the winter, now MI owes me one.
