I think you made this way too easy. At least, I don't "know" the answer, but it seems pretty obvious. I won't guess, though, so as not to spoil your game with the first post.

AJ is not my guess. She's nearby, but not near enough I'd think she'd be coming to your prom. My guess is in the same town as you.

lol, yes I'm 26, and it's a good thing I look younger since it's a high school prom, otherwise I'm sure I'd get arrested as a pedophile.
I told stryker that I'll go with him if he wants, because I've never been to a prom (that whole being homeschooled thing) I think I'll be entertained. Steve thinks I'm crazy; but is basically laughing about it. He's used to my hairbrained ideas by now.
Yeah it's a random wierd thing to do, but is there anything wrong with that? I've already warned stryker that I suck at dancing.

oh my goodneess, well let's have a pick AJ a prom dress contest shall we? I have a dark blue velvet backless formal with spaghetti straps, I know velvet would be out of season a bit but I get cold easily and even though there aren't any sleeves it keeps me warm. Online links welcome.
AJ
(prices need to stay under $100, preferably under $75, I'm cheap)

hmm, I have no idea, but I really don't want to end the evening with a sprained ankle, since I'll have to drive myself home the next day. Though if I did sprain my ankle I'm sure it would be in a spectacular fashion.

I was thinking it was celia... isn't she right in town? I guess I don't know if she is actually an engineer, but I had it in my head that she was.
My first post hubris is highly amusing in retrospect.

Now if he could just convince ELJay to show up in leathers on her new bike and stage a chick fight there over him with AJ...now THAT my friends would be a legend....

celia is not, to the best of my knowledge, in the same town. Not sure how far away (same state, but that's as far as my knowledge of Midwest geography goes).
celia is exceedingly busy at the moment, which is (part of?) why we have not be blessed with her presence in lo! this long while.
[edited to remove my faulty assertion. They say the memory is the second thing to go . . .]

Ceila is *not* a chemist, she's working on a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, she just happens to be doing biomedical imaging on cancer cells for her thesis.
She's in Lafayette, IN with Hobbes, blacwolve, snowman and others.

hmm, I was just double checking dates. I have a puppy that may be boarding with me that week. I'll have to see how the logistics of that work out (and I won't know the specifics for a while) before I can say for 100% that I can come. I need to be there when the owners come to pick it up. It would be kind of tacky to dump it all on Steve and go have fun without him.
AJ (note: if it were not for this I'd still be totally in, but you know I am old and fuddy duddy and have a responsibility to these puppies.)

I'm surprised JT's school would let you attend, Anna...my school won't let anyone older than 21 attend a prom!

Stryker, there is a policy about age, but it isn't important here, it's no one middle school or younger. Fathers have gone as dates, so I'm pretty sure this should be ok.

Like I said, I'd still like to go, and see all of the Bloomington clump besides. However, I need to discuss it with Steve. I don't know how much the workload will increase with that age puppy staying with us for more than a week. We will be nearing the end of its visit at that point, and may be at the end of our ropes. He's been remarkably patient when the puppies have been driving *me* crazy, but there's only so much I'm willing to ask of him.
On the other hand I'd get to see Russell's puppy again which would be fun too.
Wow. Stryker, not to be rude, but don't you think you have enough of a reputation around south without bringing someone almost ten years older than you?
(No offense, AJ, I'm sure you'd make a fantastic date!)

Raia, I don't think there's a whole lot of social stigma associated with a teenage guy going out with a 20 something woman. His rep with guys is sure to go up because it's like dating a college woman, and his rep with girls will go up because he appears mature enough to date an older woman. I don't think it would hurt him at all.
That may change slightly when they find out that AJ's just there as a friend, but then they'll just see AJ as being really cool and Stryker will still look better than if he went stag.

Is there anyone else out there -- that this situation makes them remember a very particular Dharma and Greg episode? (I never watch that show, but happened to be at a friends' home one day when that episode was on, and they were watching it.

I do remember that episode of Dharma and Greg, but didn't think of it till you mentioned it. The date is something around may 21st.
