I have nothing dramatic to write in my upcoming landmark that won't either offend one of my family or friends, myself (really vulgarily), or invade 3rd-party privacy.

And I hate autobiographies.

What do I do?

Landmarks are not required, you know.

If you have nothing to say . . . well, maybe you will at 2000. Or some random number.

I have every intention of skipping 12,000. *shrug*

Don't write one! Wait until you feel you have something to say. You don't have to do one now. I wrote mine at 1234.

[Smile]

Or, you could write a poem or story, post some photos of yourself, where you live, etc...

You know what? I'll do at 1000, but only a background to myself... Then, maybe at 1066 (date landmark), or at 1234 I'll prepare something, or stick myself into a dramatic situation.

(Shame that Boris, me-pal, didn't do one. Oh, who'm I to speak?)

Thanks, all!

It doesn't have to be dramatic either, you know. It can just be about you. Everyone has a story to tell, and even if its not a romantic comedy or tragedy, its still interesting [Smile] .

You should never feel like you have to write a landmark. And if you do, you should never feel that it has to be dramatic, confessional, or anything else in particular. Just say something meaningful and true to you.

Icarus, you keep saying what I'm trying to say, only more eloquently, today. [Smile]

A landmark is never obligatory. I don't remember at which number of posts I wrote mine : I wrote it when Vinnie and I decided to get married, because I felt it was a good reason to write a landmark.

Add me to the list of people who have not landmarked, and have no real intention of doing so. If you have something to say, a landmark is a great way to say it. I don't really have anything to say. That's why I post fluff. [Wink] Maybe someday I'll change my mind, but if I don't, that's fine too.

I skipped 2000. I didn't have anything to say. Both for 3000 and 4000 I did... and I felt that a landmark was a good way for me to express it. My 1000 didn't mean much, because I didn't really have anything to say then. I just wrote one because I felt I "should." The other two meant more to me. [Smile]

Best way to avoid landmarks is to take it slow.

Real slow.

I see no reason why someone should feel compelled to write a landmark at some arbitrarily round number.

No! You must make it at an even number! Or at least at a number that makes sense. Ack, I hate it when things are uneven!

*walks off muttering and straightening things*

So was this back in your younger days?
Not even?

Nothing big for your upcoming 20,000th post?
