I'm the man in my relationship.

Bernard is always always ALWAYS called 'ma'am'. It bugs him, but I think it's because he has such a slight frame and long hair (his hair is longer than mine now!). Also, his voice is rather high for a male, and he's soft-spoken in public places, such as restaurants.

I, however, was called 'sir' today no less than three times. The third time I just started laughing.

Man, if normal people are confused about this, is this going to screw up our kids?

There used to be this show on TV called "Real People" and one of the features was a couple where a married couple with kids swapped gender (gender in this case referring to the social roles). Though it seems the mom had a beard some way or other.

If you mean, will your kids be confused, I doubt it. Kids are good at picking up on all sorts of cues.

If you mean, will the fact that other people don't pay enough attention to figure out y'all's gender (and these folks have got to be not paying any attention -- I've met you two, and it's fairly obvious that you're a boy and Bernard is a gi-- uh, I mean . . . [Wink] ) likely annoy the heck out of them? Probably so. But the again, it's part of a parent's job to embarrass their kid(s) every once in a while. [Evil]
