My friend and I worked up this scene some a few years ago, and now I want to find it again because I liked it, but I absolutely can't. Here are the things I remember about it.
The two characters were Naomi and Alice. Naomi was married to someone called (I think) Spencer. Alice was planning to get married to Howard, an associate (brother? adoptive son? acquaintance?) of Naomi's and her husband's. Alice was a rich widow/old maid on whom, according to Naomi, Howard was preying.
I am also relatively sure that it claimed to be an excerpt from something called Tables and Chairs, which I have also never been able to find. I don't remember the author.
I remember a bunch of the lines. I could have them wrong.
Naomi: There are some words that I cannot tolerate being used in my presence, and that word is one of them. It is a bad word, Alice. [...] Alice: NEUROTIC! Naomi: Bad words! Bad words! Bad, bad psychology words!
Naomi: Howard wants to marry everyone! It's his plan for world peace!
The fact that I am totally unable to find this scene makes me anxious about its existence. Does it ring any bells with anyone?

Well, I can't help with that, but I would like to say that your thread title has put Queen's "I'm Going Slightly Mad" in my head, and I can't get it out, and for that you deserve to be hit upside the head with a frozen fish.
