I've had cookies made with a banana instead of eggs, and they tasted like banana. This outcome wasn't completely bad, but whatever.

Most of the cocolate chips I use are non-dairy. I don't know for sure that they're vegan, although I think it's likely. And they're quite good.

Actually, most cheap chocolate chips (Smart Choice, No Name, etc) tend to be milkless/vegan. Cocoa butter is not a milk product, as some people seem to think offhand (it does say "butter" after all). I'm not a carob chip fan either, which is what a lot of people use instead of chocolate for vegan things.
As for egg subsititutes, bananas only work in some things. Applesauce is less taste-invasive but it also only works in some things. The best overall egg substitute I've found is this:
1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. flour 3 tbsp. water Mix in a bowl with a fork until it's all foamy. This is the equivalent to one egg in a recipe.
