Does anybody have a properly formatted screenplay template they could email me?

Or maybe a reccomendation for a freeware or really cheap screenwriting software?

Or maybe just a suggestion that I go outside and get some fresh air?

Or something?

Okay, so the demo for MMS says you can write, save, and print--the only catch is that it prints with a watermark?

Is this right?

quote:
This demo is the actual Movie Magic Screenwriter program with certain
features such as exporting, limited or disabled. You WILL be able to save
work you do in this demo, up to 40 pages. However, everything will print
with a watermarked background and you will niether be able to export the
script, nor open it with the actual program without a password.

Ah. Only up to 40 pages.

I took a screenwriting class last semester. One helpful textbook was The Screenwriter's Bible by Dave Trottier. His website is www.keepwriting.com. He is known as "Dr. Format" because he's sort of like the Dear Abby of screenwriting. He has a column in a magazine where people write to him with formatting questions and he answers them.

Also, the professor wrote a sort of workbook for us which includes a lot of information. I can pass along some of that to you via email, if you want. I could also send you my screenplay sample, which isn't written very well, but is formatted wonderfully.

This is expensive, but read this about it.

This is only $49, though I've seen it many other places for much more.

Here is a shareware text editor with a screenwizard. It's only $29. Here are it's features.

Here are some reviews from the Writer's Guild of America. That looks to be really handy. Especially the Software Features Chart.

HesterGray, I'd love anything you would be able to send me. Go with my newer address, docmagik@gmail.com. Thanks so much!

And Kayla, you continue to be linkmaster. Thanks a lot!

You're all awesome.

There's always ScriptMaker (and all the software associated with it). It worked well for me (but then, I wasn't doing anything too serious.)

Kwea,

My friend Jarrod wrote a couple of those harvester programs, and I know some of the ways around it. That is not an @ sign, it is actually a Phonecian ascii symbol that is very close to the @, but not quite. If you squint really closely, you'll see subtle differences. Of course, since it's different ascii code, it may as well be a stop sign for all that those programs recognize it. However, if you cut and paste it, the cut-and-paste sofware recognizes the character, and converts it back to an @.

Please don't tell the harvester guys about this bug. My friend would get fired.

Oh, and thanks JTK. I'm downloading that app right now.
