I read Enders Games 3 days ago and today i jsut finished Speaker For the Dead. And i intend to read the rest of the Ender series. But my problem is that when i read a book and i really like it i cant read other books that dont have the same people in it. Like when i read the orginal Redwall book i havnt been able to read anyone the other ones because they have different people in the books. So odds are the i am not going to read the shadow books at all becasue my friends that read them told me that they are all about Bean and barly have Ender in them at all.

Is this a mistake is the shadow series are good as the ender series?

*Scratches head*

If I think of this as the dot of opposing color on this side of the yin-yang symbol, than it doesn't bother me so much.

Don't worry. At some point OSC will write the book tying the two series together. You'll want to read it because it will have the characters from Children of the Mind. To understand it, you'll have to read the Shadow series. So this will give you the needed motivation.

Plus, lots of characters from Ender's Game are in the Shadow books.

Don't get around to it... Read them! Ender's Shadow will hook you from the start. Its like reading Ender's game all over again from a different camera angle... the other books will come naturally.

I don't know, out of all the Ender related books, Ender's Shadow was my least favorite. That said, the rest of the series was pretty good, you you should at least read ES since it sets up the other books.

You will grow out of this.

I loved the Ender series, but I loved the Shadow series even more. Lots of love going on for OSC's books. As others have said, they complete each other.

hmmm...shadow vs. ender.

Although Shadow recently acquired guns, he is still a hedgehog, and ender is a genius. I think ender would win.
