I don't know if this has been posted, but I don't care, it's important enough to be posted again. Do not, under any circumstances, click on a link that randomly comes IMed to you from a buddy, if the text of the message is anything like this:
quote: Check <this> out... is this you?
The <this> will be a link, and it will look as though it's linking to a .jpg file, but it's a virus! Don't click on it!
If it's too late, and you've clicked, run a virus scan immediately, and go to here. The miracle techie friend I told you about in another thread showed me that link, and it seems to have fixed my AIM.
You have been warned.

Good thing it doesn't affect Macs, cause Raia's AIM sent it to me and I clicked on it without thinking.

Yeah, I got it too, and clicked it but then realized something was fishy about 2 seconds later and closed the link. I don't think it had time to infect me, but I did the AIMfix thing just in case.

I clicked on something just the other night that said, "This was cool, check it out." 'This' was a link, and I assumed my friend wanted to show me pictures of some odd happening.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
It took all night and a hatrack thread to get rid of that virus.
Thanks again, folks who helped me with that.

yeah, the virus is either W32.Allim.A or W32.Allim.B I'm not sure which, but either one can be removed by most anti-virus programs.
