Natural Selection at work? What an excellent attempt at the Darwin Award.

Yea, I used to have lightsabre duels when I was a kid but they were always held in the bathroom and I usually got yelled at for the mess.

"Hey, let's light some gasoline on fire! And inside glass tubes, so they'll blow up really well!"

Come on, people, just buy one of those plastic-covered flashlights from a toy store. Honestly.

"Hold on, I forgot to put in the crystals."

That kept running through my head while reading this.

Darwin award indeed. That's what happens when you dive headfirst into the shallow end of the gene pool.

I'm trying to figure out how two people-- not one, but two people-- thought this one up without considering the consequences of lighting gasoline in fire (inside a glass container, at that).

They were probably drunk.

If ice cream, bacon and cornflake sandwiches can sound appetizing, this plan could probably have seemed like a logical thing to do.

I’m trying to figure what they thought it would do. Light up on fire inside the bulb so that it glowed like a light saber?
And what’s the deal with using something that breaks very easily as a light saber. You’d only get to hit once!
Guess they couldn’t afford a good one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=98027&item=6534689494&rd=1
There are 2,178 of lightsabers on ebay:

what if these two breed with each other!?!?!? I don't suppose this might have rendered them sterile?
