We have a cockatiel and yes... we got her a bird diaper. At first we were like... are these for real? But they are! It is wonderful to just have her go anywhere in the house and not have to worry about her pooping everywhere.
Want Proof?

We are thinking about taking her down to my parents house.. which is 5 hours away. She will probably sit on our shoulders.. However I'm worried that she would die in a car crash or even a sharp turn. [Dont Know]
I don't think having her in her cage would be much safer...
We were going to have someone babysit her...
[Embarrassed] I'm such a worry wort... [Embarrassed]

Wow! That is so cool. Seems like it should be hard to force a bird into one of those things.

I miss having birds. [Frown]

Can you get like a little bird carrier for a trip? Then you can let it out if things are going well.

I used to have a cockatiel, until my sister left it outside, in the rain.

Did your cockatiel fly away? Or did it get pneumonia?

I have one! She is so cute but she hates my mom. Her name is Steve. We found out she was a girl about a year after we had her when she layed an egg. hehe.

I have a cockatiel. When I got him he was such a cute little thing, but gradually over time he's become a bit, well... do birds get schizophrenia? He certainly has anger issues.

I don't know where I've gone wrong. I let him out everyday, talk to him a lot, let him fly around. He's always got plenty of food and water. But he's becoming very private and territorial. Now when I try to pick him up he tends to throw himself at my face and try to peck my eyes out.

I dread to think what state he'd get into if I tried to put him in one of these things.

Had a roommate who got a budgie - short for budgeriger in the Australian aboriginal language, IIRC, and it means "to taste good", or something close to that.

So I'm reading the info packet that says all this, and she asks for suggestions on what to name him. I suggest "Lunch". She goes with "Shakespeare" instead. So I call him "Shake 'n'Bake". [Big Grin]

LOL [ROFL]
That's awesome quid!

Bella, does your cockatiel have mites? If I did, I know that would make me crazy. Spending a lot of time with them and not holding them around the chest.. is always good to do..
Also loud noices really bothers cockatiels.. they have very sensitive hearing.

We are trying to spend as much time with our bird, Arwen, as we can. It is hard to get her in the diaper but she is learning that she can't get out of the cage anymore unless she has it on. She also really loves being in the car and I think she associates the diaper with being in the car... which is a good thing.

We also are not certain that she is a girl, she is only 4 months old but the breeder was pretty certain she was a female.

I had a cockatiel when I was 14 and I thought she was a boy and one day I woke up and there she was guarding a little egg.
